Project acronym: LIFE25-CAP-MK-eHUB4LIFE
Project number: 101233810
Call: Technical Assistance projects for Capacity Building (LIFE-2025-TA-CAP)
Topic: LIFE 2024 Capacity Building
Starting Date: 1 October 2025
End Date: 30 September 2028
On 3 July 2023, in Brussels, the Republic of North Macedonia formally signed an agreement to associate with the LIFE Programme, the European Union’s flagship initiative dedicated to supporting environmental and climate action. As a newly associated country, North Macedonia faces challenges stemming from limited experience and institutional capacity in the areas targeted by LIFE programme, particularly among personnel within the relevant ministries serving as NCPs.
The eHUB4LIFE Project has been established to address these challenges by enhancing the effective participation of national beneficiaries in the LIFE Programme. Its overarching objective is to strengthen the capacity of NCP Network through coordinated measures that enable them to assist current and prospective applicants in preparing high-quality project proposals.
The sustainability of the project will be ensured through the development of a digital support platform, the LIFEMKeHUB. This platform will offer professional guidance, resources, and tools to facilitate access to LIFE Programme funding. By enhancing both the quantity and quality of submitted applications, the initiative aims to significantly strengthen national contribution to the European environmental and climate objectives.
The project partners are the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP), acting as the project coordinator, and the Knowledge and Skills Management Centre K&S Skopje (K&S Skopje).
General objective: Increasing participation in calls for proposals and enhancing the overall quality of submitted applications.
eHUB4LIFE Project aims to strengthen the effective participation of national beneficiaries in the LIFE Programme. This will be accomplished through targeted capacity-building measures for national contact points, enabling them to more effectively engage with and support (potential) applicants in preparing and submitting project proposals. A key component of this initiative is the development of a sustainable and comprehensive digital platform, LIFE MK eHUB, designed to deliver professional, streamlined support for accessing and utilizing LIFE funding.
Specific objectives:
SO1 Widening the scope and promotion of LIFE Programme at national level.
SO2 Strengthening the existing knowledge and communication capacity of the NCP network.
SO3 Creating a tailor-made sustainable platform for professional and effective support for accessing and leveraging LIFE funding.
SO4 Boosting participation by effective up-taking of project results and attracting additional financial instruments.
- Disseminated information about the LIFE Programme and identified a pool of stakeholders and interested parties.
- Improved internal competencies within the NCP network related to the LIFE Programme and project application processes, coupled with increased outreach to relevant applicants.
